Indiezone loves unique artists, we mean by that, creative artists who take risks, and are not afraid to think out of the box. Our duet of the day is one of them: let us introduce you to Hey Jack.
Their latest single “EX” is a crazy pop-rock gem with surprising quirky energy. They are one of a kind…
But who are they…?

Hey Jack! Can you introduce yourself and tell us how you started to make music?
I don’t know if we can talk about a band, there are two of us and we make music, sometimes each on our own, often together. We call on “outside” musicians and singers who, for the duration of a song, become Hey Jack. And that allows us to make a variety of music, we didn’t set ourselves the goal of not having any track that looks alike, but we tend to that.
We’re grooving away with your recent single “EX”. Could you take us back to what inspired such a song?
Ex is a rock song with touches of electro-pop. It was composed last summer (2019), like a lot of songs it starts with a guitar, then we build around it. He talks about addiction, metaphorically, about how much one can feel for an ex, and more literally about how much one feels for certain substances.
We’ve noticed that there are a variety of different styles that are unveiled in this song. What are your biggest inspirations and how would you describe your music?
Thank you, we also like what is quirky, which stands out. The whole clip starts with the pink character who quickly imposed himself on us. We wanted a colorful clip that was a bit off the mark, which ultimately shows a guy who is really bad, but in a light way, I hope we succeeded.
« EX » is taken from your first EP, can you tell us a few words about this project?
Music, and it’s already not bad! :). There are 5 tracks, all are very different, Ex being the 3rd single with a music video that we released. But you know there’s only one way to find out what’s in an EP …. so enjoy listening!
What can fans anticipate next from you?
We are currently working on the next EP which may be an album, nothing is defined yet, but it is progressing well. In 2021 we will talk about it 🙂
